‘Waiting for Nightfall’ – Woodcock print

‘Waiting for Nightfall’ depicts a woodcock in a secluded, snow-covered patch of fallen leaves, waiting patiently for dusk before it ventures out to feed.  The rich colours of the leaves contrast with the ice-blue shadows on the snow, and the atmosphere is clear and crisp.  Woodcock are among Colin’s favourite subjects, and his love for them is evident in this beautiful painting.
