This book of lined paper has a cover that has been completely hand-made by Colin using traditional bookbinding skills.  The inside pages have been selected from the legendary Italian MOLESKINE range to suit the style of the book and are suitable for writing with biro or pencil media, it is possible that some fountain pens or felt pens may bleed as the paper is thin.

Specification

  • Size:  245 x 198 mm approx.   200 pages (100 leaves) stitched to allow book to open flat
  • Cover:   Half-bound in Pure 100% black silk bookcloth.  Special high quality Japanese Chiyogami black and white blossom with gold design paper
  • Endpapers:   Black, GF Smith Colorplan sustainably made paper, which has been produced and refined for the last 80+ years
  • Paper:   80 gsm approx. narrow lined, smooth, ivory paper, ideal for writing
  • Finishes:   Silk hand-sewn black and gold headbands.  Black satin ribbon.   The last page carries an embossed stamp specially made for these books.   A materials list is included with each book detailing all the materials used as well as the specification (see samples in gallery images).

 

This book contains paper of a certain type and is fit for that purpose, but the suitability of this paper across all the many different types of media (ink, paint, pastels, crayons etc) cannot be guaranteed. If in doubt test a small area first.

Note: The Frogmore Mill is the world’s oldest mechanised paper mill and is in Hertfordshire, England. Paper has been made here from 1774 and the current machine is over 100 years old.
