This book of plain unlined paper has a cover that has been hand-finished by Colin using traditional bookbinding skills.  The inside pages have been selected to suit the style of the book and are suitable for sketching and writing with most media.

Specification

  • Size:  A5 210 x 148 mm.   100 pages (50 leaves) stitched to allow book to open flat
  • Cover:   Half-bound in Blue veg tan leather.  Special high quality Japanese Chiyogami paper featuring gold swirls
  • Endpapers:   Frogmore Mill gold and silver fleck recycled paper
  • Paper:   150 gsm plain, slightly off-white, acid-free smooth cartridge style paper, ideal for sketching
  • Finishes:   Silk hand-sewn blue and gold headbands.  The last page carries an embossed stamp specially made for these books.   A materials list is included with each book detailing all the materials used as well as the specification (see samples in gallery images).

 

This book contains paper of a certain type and is fit for that purpose, but the suitability of this paper across all the many different types of media (ink, paint, pastels, crayons etc) cannot be guaranteed. If in doubt test a small area first.

Note: The Frogmore Mill is the world’s oldest mechanised paper mill and is in Hertfordshire, England. Paper has been made here from 1774 and the current machine is over 100 years old.
