Pine Marten from life.

All my work is of course from life events that I have witnessed, but this is a quick sketch instead of a fully-worked drawing, which is unusual for me.  I don’t often produce quick sketches, preferring to work straight into a piece that will be finished when I am happy.  But last winter, I spotted a pine marten in the daytime on the rocks opposite the house.  He had a soft, long coat and seemed very interested in something in our hedge.  Again, I sketched it quickly to capture its pose and attitude.  We see these animals quite often on our nut feeders, both day and night.
